The Côtes du Rhônes vineyards run along the banks of the Rhône river as far as its delta. From Vienne to Cavaillon, inbetween Lyon and Marseille.
Rooted on 6 départements (Loire, Rhône, Ardèche, Drôme, Gard et Vaucluse)  and 171 communes with 1497 privately owned caves and 61 co-operative caves.

Appelations are classified as 18 Local Appelations (Crus) with 2 fortified wines, Côtes du Rhônes Villages Appelation with 17 geographique labels and Côtes du Rhônes Regional Appelation.

 

There are 22 varietals distributed in "red" (Black Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Black Cinsault, Cournoise, Marselan, Black Muscadin, Camarèse, Black Vaccarèse, Black Picpoul, Black Terret, Grey Grenache, Pink Clairette) and "white" (White Grenache, White Clairette, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier, Bourboulenc, White Picpoul, White Ugni).

 Different "terroirs" with various supply, moraines following the Ice Age, movements of the pliocene, end of myocene era erosion, ..., granit rocks, métamorphic, alluvionnary, numerous climates from North to South and depending of altitudes.

All these gives the area a rich diversity and surely will you find the wine that suits you.

To help you do so, we set up a discovery plan in the shape of a meal starting in the late afternoon to the evening end where you'll discover the 13 varietals authorised in the "Chateauneuf-du-Pape". During this session you'll also discover "terroir" food.
